Recipe Story
I have a niece with CF. I used to soak the beans and add onion, garlic and other seasonings, but have found we like this simple version. I put into pint jars and freeze until needed.
Ingredients
- 4 c dried pinto beans
- 8 c water
- 1 Tbsp salt
- Add All Ingredients
Directions
Wash and sort pinto beans.
Place beans in slow cooker with water.
Cook on low for about 24 hours, until tender.
Mash and add salt.
Cook on low for another 24 hours.
