Our Favorite Brownies By: Ann R.

Recipe Story

This is the most requested recipe in our house. As soon as they are cool, everyone starts hanging out hoping to eat a few. The fat and calories in the brownies have helped our son with CF to gain weight without a problem. Many friends have requested the recipe and I continue to bake them for company who always love them.

Ingredients

  • 2 stick(s) unsalted butter
  • 6 oz unsweetened baking chocolate
  • 4 large eggs
  • 2 c granulated sugar
  • 1 c all purpose flour
  • 2 tsp baking powder
  • 1 tsp salt
  • 2 tsp vanilla
  • 1 c roasted pecan pieces
  • Add All Ingredients

Directions

  • Prep Time: 20 minutes
  • Cook Time: 28 - 30 minutes

  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Butter a 9"x13" Pyrex glass pan and line with Parchment paper to hang over the sides of the pan.

  3. Melt butter and chocolate in a pan over boiling water.

  4. Cream eggs with sugar in a mixing bowl.

  5. Mix dry ingredients in a separate bowl.

  6. When butter/chocolate mixture has cooled slightly, add it to the egg mixture and beat with a hand mixer for 3 minutes.

  7. Reduce speed to low and add vanilla and dry ingredients.

  8. Mix well and add pecan pieces.

  9. Pour into pan and spread evenly. Bake for 28-30 minutes

  10. Allow to cool completely on a cooling rack.

  11. When completely cool, lift brownies from pan by lifting parchment paper. Cut into squares.
