Vanilla Ice Cream By: Carolyn P.
Recipe Story
My colleague at work has a daughter with CF and I enjoy participating in the Walks, Garage Sales, Bowlathons, Mother's Tea, and other events to support research. This Vanilla Ice Cream is an old family recipe. It has been modified somewhat, since cream is not what it was in the early 1900s or late 1800s. The recipe makes one gallon of ice cream.
Ingredients
- 2 qt whipping cream
- 1 qt half & half
- 2 c sugar
- 3 tsp pure vanilla
- Ice
- Rock salt
- Add All Ingredients
Directions
Chill ice cream container.
Mix ingredients until sugar is dissolved in container.
Place paddle carefully.
Layer rock salt and ice.
Follow directions for your hand crank or electric ice cream maker.
Place in freezer.
