Harriet's Chocolate Frosting for Banana Cake By: George H.
This was used by my mother to frost her banana cake. The recipe for "Harriet's Banana Cake with Chocolate Chips and Chocolate Frosting” can also be found on this website.
- 1 lb powdered sugar
- 1/2 stick(s) butter, softened
- 1/2 c cocoa powder
- 1/2 c evaporated milk
- 1/2 tsp vanilla
- 3/4 tsp instant coffee
- 1/2 c walnuts, chopped
- Add All Ingredients
In one bowl, thoroughly whisk the powdered sugar, cocoa, and instant coffee together.
In a separate bowl, cream the softened butter, vanilla, and evaporated milk together. Do not add the evaporated milk all at once; add gradually until you achieve the desired stiffness.
Frost Harriet's Banana Cake and top with chopped walnuts, if desired.
Harriet's Banana Cake with Chocolate Frosting is best served slightly chilled.
