Our Favorite Green Beans

My family loves green beans and we regularly serve them once per week. Our son who has CF always eats at least two servings, which are healthy and help him maintain his weight.

Ingredients

  • 1 lb fresh green beans, trimmed
  • 1/2 yellow onion, chopped
  • 1 c mushrooms, sliced
  • 1 tsp chopped garlic
  • 1/2 c diced ham (optional)
  • 3 Tbsp olive oil
  • 1/4 c water
  • Add All Ingredients

Instructions

Prep Time: 20 minutes
Cook Time: 8 - 10 minutes

Step 1
Wash beans and trim ends.

Step 2
Place onions, mushrooms, chopped garlic, salt and pepper and optional ham into large skillet with olive oil and sauté lightly for 4 minutes.

Step 3
Add prepared green beans and stir. Add water as necessary.

Step 4
Cover pan and sauté for 7-9 minutes. Check beans and stir occasionally.

Step 5
Serve when done.
