My adult daughter was diagnosed with CF when she was 22 months old. She's always loved ice cream and toppings!
- 1 c pure maple syrup
- 1/2 c heavy whipping cream
- 1/4 tsp salt
- 1 tsp fresh lemon juice
- 2 large eggs - egg whites only
- Add All Ingredients
- Prep Time: 35 minutes
- Cook Time: Cooking time varies -- can be 15 - 30 minutes
Pour maple syrup into heavy bottom sauce pan and boil it on medium heat until it forms a thread (227 degrees on a candy thermometer).
Remove from heat to cool a bit.
On high, in a small bowl, with electric mixer, beat two egg whites into very stiff peaks.
Add the maple syrup, cream, salt, and fresh lemon juice to the egg whites.
Blend with electric mixer into creamy sauce.
Use warm on any flavor of ice cream. Keep in glass jar in fridge.
Scoop out into microwavable ice cream bowl to reheat.
Put ice cream on top.
