Cozy Up With Suzanne's Top Three Winter Recipes
Winter is the perfect opportunity to enjoy outdoor activities and then come inside and cozy up by the fire! It is also a great time to whip up some comfort food guaranteed to give those who have cystic fibrosis (CF) the calories and nutrients they need. There are so many wonderful CF-friendly dishes included in the Online Cookbook, but I think you will agree that these top three winter recipes are perfect for a cold day spent in the kitchen.
- Banoffee Stuffed French Toast: This is the perfect recipe for a chilly winter morning. It puts a new spin on an old classic while giving CF patients a nutritious breakfast to start the day.
- Yummy Sweet Potato Bites: I just love the idea of these Yummy Sweet Potato Bites. What a great way to prepare sweet potatoes as a snack or side dish and add a lot vitamin A into everyone's diet. Also, little ones enjoy picking up the sweet potato bites with their fingers - they are so easy for them to eat!
- Yummy Baked Potato Soup: This 2012 contest winning recipe is a hearty, delicious soup that is the perfect meal after a long day out in the snow! Make a large pot and enjoy with your family.
To add some extra calories with these recipes, drink a big mug of hot chocolate made with whole milk or half and half or enjoy a glass of eggnog. To get the most out of these recipes, continue taking pancreatic enzyme replacement therapies (PERT) as directed by your physician to help absorb optimal nutrients.
I hope you enjoy cooking up my favorite winter meals!
